ROYAL CARIBBEAN'S
VACATION PROTECTION PLAN
Protect yourself with CruiseCare

We want this to be the best vacation of your life. So to make sure you have nothing to think about except having a good time, we offer CruiseCare Vacation Protection. CruiseCare protects you both before and during your cruise. With CruiseCare, if your plans go awry and you cancel your cruise, you're protected either by insurance if you cancel for a covered reason or by cruise credits from Royal Caribbean International if you cancel your cruise for any other non-insured reason.

As a special feature, if you voluntarily cancel your cruise for a reason that is not covered by the insurance portion of CruiseCare, Royal Caribbean International will give you 75% of the normally non-refundable cancellation charges in a future cruise credit.

CruiseCare also provides a wide range of important protection when you are traveling - for mishaps such as lost or delayed baggage or travel delays, to coverage for more serious problems.

TRIP CANCELLATION/INTERRUPTION: CruiseCare provides reimbursement of cancellation penalties up to your total cruise vacation cost if you must cancel your vacation due to a covered reason such as illness or injury of yourself or a family member. If you must interrupt your cruise for a covered reason, CruiseCare reimburses unused arrangements and one-way economy return airfare up to a maximum of your total cruise vacation cost.

TRIP DELAY: Should you miss the departure of your cruise due to a covered reason, such as airline delays, inclement weather, and lost or stolen travel documents, you will be reimbursed up to $500 USD to cover accommodations, meals and "catch-up" transportation.

MEDICAL EXPENSES: Should you become sick or injured on your vacation, CruiseCare will reimburse up to $10,000 USD for covered medical expenses. This is particularly comforting because Medicare and many private insurance policies do not provide medical coverage during travel outside North America.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION: If emergency air or ground transportation is necessary because of serious illness or injury, CruiseCare will arrange and pay the cost to transfer you to the nearest appropriate medical facility, up to $25,000 USD.

BAGGAGE PROTECTION: CruiseCare provides up to $1500 USD in baggage and personal property protection due to loss, theft or damage. And, if your bags are delayed for more than 24 hours, you will be reimbursed up to $500 USD toward the purchase of necessary personal items.

24-HOUR WORLDWIDE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: With CruiseCare, you have access to the services of AIG Assist, including emergency cash transfer, lost documents assistance and other medical and travel-related services.

Note: This is just a brief summary of benefits. Other limitations such as a pre-existing condition exclusion apply. For full terms and conditions of coverage, click here or ask your travel agent for the Description of Coverage pamphlet. If you have any questions concerning coverage, just call Royal Caribbean's CruiseCare Help Line at (800) 453-4022. This program is available only to U.S. and Canadian residents, excluding residents of Puerto Rico. The insurance coverage is underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA, Policy No. 9500200. The plan cost may be paid at any time from deposit up to and including final payment; however, trip cancellation protection takes effect only upon payment of the CruiseCare plan cost in addition to any required cruise deposit. Payment of your cruise fare deposit without CruiseCare plan cost will not activate your coverage.

Guests must cancel their cruise prior to departure and must file a claim with BerkelyCare, the program administrator, to be eligible for future cruise credits. Credits expire one year after issue date, are non-transferable and not applicable to holiday or inaugural sailings. Credits have no cash value and, if applied to a booking of lesser value, will not result in any difference refunded in cash. Credits may not be used for deposits (only final payment) and can be used only on the cruise brand originally booked. Only original copies of credit letters can be accepted; copies or altered letters may not be used.
